Facts of the Day #26

1.  So I got a video up today:

2. Whilst looking at my blog and twitter, I realized that my background for both are quite similar.  I also realized that I need to twitter more... follow me if you'd like :)  I'll tweet on the daily with updates on videos and randomness.

3. Haaaaaa.  I was wearing this on my lips when my mom came to my room to talk to me:
I guess she's kind of used to me wearing crazy makeup around the house because she didn't even comment on it!

4. There is so much prom stuff I want to blog about, but that will have to wait for another post.  I'm tired and I want to edit one more video before I go to bed.  Perhaps I'll do a 'Facts of the Prom' video.  Hehe.

5. Tomorrow I'll be editing a couple of videos, swatching a few things, doing some more blog posts, and studying for my AP Government exam.  I definitely should have started studying a month ago, but oh well...

6. I'll need to do a Facts of Recent Times.  I've got a few outfits I want to show off as well as who knows what else.

The end, because this post is mostly about stuff I'll be doing, and that's no fun...

wet'n'wild mega last lipstick: smokin' hot pink (905D)

Let me start by saying I LOVE this.  I've tried one mega last lipstick before this, and I hated it.  Reason number one: my lips were chapped.  Reason number two: It was a terrible color on me.  It totally put me off of the lipstick for a while, because I thought they would all be as terrible.  I am so glad this color proved me wrong...right after I bought this color, I had to go back and get two more.  I love those too, and I'll post reviews of them soon!

This shade is called "smokin' hot pink," or 905D.  My one and only gripe is that the name is ONLY on the plastic wrapping that you take off to open the product.  So if I don't remember a few weeks from now what the shade name is, that's going to be a bit of a problem.  (Fortunately I have this blog to keep track of things for me...I've had to refer back to several of my old posts to remember the names of different products.)  But the things I love far outweigh this problem:  You can wear it as a stain (by lightly patting it on) or as a full blown lipstick (by swiping it on).  As a stain it is matte, and as a lipstick it has a little more of a sheen, but that dries down.  These lipsticks have no shimmer at all, which I love.  They aren't really drying as long as I wear a little lip balm with them.  They do last quite a while as well.  I only have to reapply it twice at school, and that's after I've eaten something.  Although sometimes I reapply more often just because I love applying lipstick...  And the best part is that the lipstick is only $2!

Now for the pictures:

 light swatch

It's a little patchy on my hand, but on smooth lips that isn't a problem.

 two swipes

lightly applied

heavily (but not too heavily) applied

I just adore this shade!  It's such a pretty pinky shade that's perfect for spring.  It's actually one of those colors that brightens your whole face, so that's pretty great.

I hope this was helpful :)

wet'n'wild juicy lip balm (strawberry, cherry, raspberry)

These balms are just so cute!  They retail for around $3, so that's pretty great...
My thoughts:  I purchased two colors, and one of my friends bought another shade, so she let me swatch it. The two colors I purchased (cherry and raspberry) lend a pretty tint to your lips, which is quite nice.  I wouldn't say that they are particularly moisturizing.  I think if you start off with smooth lips when you apply the balm, your lips will stay smooth.  If you apply the balm to chapped lips, your lips will stay about as chapped.  They also smell pretty good!  The main thing I dislike is the taste from the SPF.  Basically, they're all sunscreen flavored.  Blech!  The packaging is pretty bulky, but I actually quite like it.  It makes sense that it's bigger anyway, because the balm itself is so big.  Plus, it's pretty :)
Now onto the pictures:

 strawberry
total balm.  that's quite a lot!
 raspberry
 cherry
 strawberry, raspberry, cherry

So, all in all, I quite like these.  They add a pretty tint to your lips, and the SPF is good for your lips.  (If you can get past the taste)
By the way, I swatched all of these in a car.  My friend Catherine and I were running errands the day before prom, so I swatched the products I bought along the way :)
I hope my thoughts (I wouldn't count this as a review) were helpful!

So I've been gone for a little over a week...

Ack!  I feel so awful!
I've just had so much homework over the past week that I've had no time to blog or edit any videos.  Plus I had prom this past weekend, so I didn't have any time then either.  So anyway, I should finally have some down time this weekend.  Which means I can finally put up the several product reviews I need to do, outfit of the day posts, and who knows what else.  And I'll be able to edit some videos!  I have 4 to edit, so hopefully I'll be able to get those done and upload them throughout the next week.  And then maybe film and edit some others :)  This next month will be a little slower than usual with posts and videos because I have AP exams and senior exams.  But by the 23, I think I'll be completely done with school (graduated and everything! ack!) and I'll be able to post on the daily.  Yayyyy!  BTW, I can't believe I'm graduating...

...And I sound kind of out of breath in this post.  Oh well.  Ta ta for now, and hopefully I'll see you all quite soon.

Facts of the Day #25

1. These are kind of more facts of yesterday.

2. I totally fell asleep today when I was doing homework yesterday...I definitely didn't get enough sleep the night before because I was doing a lit assignment.

3. My school is playing assassin!  We're killing each other off with squirt guns, and the last person standing wins...I'm probably going to lose.

4. I totally had perfect winged eyeliner yesterday:

awk pics...I had just woken up from my nap!

I think I'll do a video on how to do winged eyeliner soon, since it was requested on my giveaway video.

5. If you haven't entered my giveaway yet, do it!

Make sure to comment on the actual video page rather than this blog post

6. And here's how I did my hair.  It kind of reminds me of Princess Jasmine, and possibly Clove's hairstyle in the arena.

It's kind of an awkward picture, but I think you get the idea.

7. I love carrots.  End of story.

Actually...that's a pretty odd note to end a post on.  So, I love eating carrots.  They're yummy and healthy :)

8. I'm having such issues choosing how I want to do my hair and makeup and nails for prom!  Plus I need to film some prom videos for YouTube.  And edit three that I have on my computer right now!  And film a bajillion more video ideas that I have written down.  (10 videos!)  And all the videos you are all suggesting on my giveaway video!  I love all the ideas :)  I can only film 3-4 videos on a good day though, so I feel like I'm getting a little behind...

9. I was watching ANTM last week and I just had to take a screen shot of this:

It looks like Laura's head is floating! Hahahahaaaa....

The end :)

I'm having 500 subscriber giveaway!

I'm having a 500 subscriber giveaway!

Commenting here won't enter you in the contest, but you can follow this link to enter on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac2NXu0IwtM
You can comment here if you want to though, 'cause that's always nice!

I've reviewed/swatched some of these products before:
Cool Green eyeliner

I feel like my blog has come such a long way too.  I started it in the beginning of 2011 (or maybe the end of 2010, not sure), and stopped posting after January.  I think you can really see the difference between the posts from then and the posts from now.  I've gotten a new camera, figured out (or at least tried to figure out) better lighting, and hopefully my lighting has improved.  I was looking through all of my posts to find these swatches and I was like WOAH.  I took a really long break there, didn't I?  But now that I have a camera that's actually good for blogging, and I quite like blogging, I won't be taking anymore breaks like that.
But anyways, I have to go do homework now, so GO ENTER THE CONTEST.  I'm loving all the suggestions I'm getting in the comments for videos!

Thanks for reading!

Facts of the Day #24

1. I had to get up at 5 this morning.  I was not happy about it.

This is my 5 o'clock in the morning, glasses, t-shirt, and no makeup face.  (I hate wearing t-shirts.  I only wear my very comfiest t-shirts on the most necessary occasions.  I just hate not being dressed up...)

2. I cleaned my room today.  (yay!)

3. I also filmed three videos.  (and yesterday I filmed my giveaway video, which will be up soon)  I'm so excited!

4. I didn't get any homework done...

5. iMovie keeps crashing.  Like all the time.  While I'm editing one video, it'll crash several times.  It's so aggravating!  I'm trying all sorts of different things to keep it from crashing, and I'll let you know if I come upon a solution.

6. Now I'm editing my Clove hair tutorial:
(hoping it won't crash a million times)

The end!

Facts of the Day #23

1.  500 SUBSCRIBERS!!!!!! I'm so happy!  Thank you so much to everyone who is a subscriber.  Here's the video I made about it:

It's not a spectacular video, but just look at that beautiful video thumbnail!

2. So that means I'll be doing my giveaway soon!

3. I had an orthodontist appointment yesterday.  They told me I have to start wearing my bottom retainer during the day again...one of my bottom teeth had moved a little bit and I was freaking out.  But they shoved a file in between my teeth (what?) and now (that I've worn my retainer for nearly 24 hours) my tooth is nearly straight again.  Sorry, that's a little bit boring of a fact of the day.  But I'm hoping it will console some poor soul, who, like me, didn't wear their bottom retainer for a while.  That one crooked tooth will go back to normal!  They won't put any torturous braces back on your teeth!

4. Here's some outfit of the day pictures I've taken over the past three days:

5. I re-read the Hunger Games and most of Catching Fire over the last couple days of my spring break.  And then I finished Catching Fire the past couple of days.  I'm now re-reading Mockingjay.  (Re-reading means I have now read The Hunger Games 4 times, Catching Fire 3 times, and Mockingjay 2.5 times)  I'm obsessed... I still like the books just as much as the first time I read them.  (Although Mockingjay has always been my least favorite.  I feel like it's a little slow compared to the other books.)  Also, I feel like I mention the Hunger Games in all of my blog posts.... oh well

6. I finally watched American Idol last night!  I've only watched bits and pieces here and there but I pretty much love all of the contestants.  (I don't really like Holly and Colton that much though.  At least compared to the others) HAHAHAHAA I'm watching the results show right now and Phillip petting Colton's head is hilarious...

7. The end :)

wet'n'wild megashield lip colors

I have two shades: salsa lessons and lollypopstar.  I'm kind of on the fence about these.  I like that they have SPF 15, but I don't like the metallic-ness of lollypopstar.  The metallic-ness does tend to mess up how the lip color looks after a while, it kind of bunches up.  But I do like the cream formula of salsa lessons, and it's a pretty bright orangey-red that I think could be great for summer.  It feels fairly moisturizing and lasts a good amount of time without fading unevenly.  The only other gripes I have is the packaging- the stickers do not come off without leaving behind a ton of goop, and the lid does not come off easily without removing the stickers.  I did try to remove the goop with nail polish remover (don't do it, it will rub off some of the black plastic and result in a nasty burnt plastic smell) and perfume. (sometimes that will get anything off of anything, like sharpies off of a white fridge.  It did get some of the goop off, but now the tubes smell like perfume, and it's a perfume I don't even like that much... But without further ado, her are the pics and swatches:

swatches (top, lollypopstar, bottom, salsa lessons)

All swatches below are of salsa lessons.  The first picture is one layer of application, the next is two, and the last is three or four layers.

And here is the gooptastic case in all of it's glory.  It's kind of cool looking if you can somehow get the sticky stuff off :)

I don't love them, but I wouldn't be against trying some other colors.  They're only $3, so it's actually a pretty great deal!
