I'm thinking of doing hunger games tutorials.  (since I'm OBSESSED)  Maybe katniss hair and nails (possibly makeup, but there's not much to do there) and Effie makeup and nails.  If you can think of other characters I should do, let me know.  You can put links to pictures of the characters too, if you find any that you like!

Facts of the Day #8.2

1. I tried out some makeup for my school's production.  We're doing Singing in the Rain, which is set in the  20's.  Would you like a tutorial?  Let me know!

Facts of the Day #8

1.  Today I was working on painting sets for my school's play.  I got to paint two gold dragons on some panels.  (I'll try to put some pictures in another post.)
2.  My feet are KILLING me!  Standing for 6 1/2 hours (for painting) really does a number on your feet. :(
3.  I am now being lazy.
4.  I finished the bracelet I talked about in this video:

I'll add pics in another post, and maybe I'll do a tutorial :)
5.  I'm still working on that nail tutorial I put up a picture of last week.  I'll put up the video eventually... :)

Preview: Green Eye look

I showed this look in a facts of the day post a while ago, as well as in an ootd video.  And I just filmed the tutorial!  I'll have it up on youtube soon in the next few days.  But for now, preview pictures!

Sinful Colors: Nail Junkie

Here's nail junkie, a super glittery color from Sinful Colors.
It's got several kinds of glitter floating around in an aqua jelly base.  The glitter is kind of holographic, so it takes on many shades when it's layered over black.

My ring finger is 1 coat of a black nail polish with two coats of Nail Junkie, the other nails are 3-4 coats of nail junkie.
I think it's really pretty to look at!  I actually only got a few day's wear out of it.  Buut that's because I peeled it all off.  (It was easy because I had 3 or four layers piled on!)  I think it's a pretty color but I got tired of it... It's not my favorite color.  However, it does look pretty layered over other colors.  Now I'm just rambling...so bye!

Facts of the Day #6

1.  Yesterday I painted my nails.  (so technically that's a fact from yesterday)
2.  I wore a fishtail braid in my hair today!
I guess it's a little hard to tell that it's a fishtail braid intstead of a regular braid...but I was rushed this morning!
3.Today in my psychology class, I had to write a story about Terry the Turtle from Texas.  It was for some intelligence test.
4. AHH Friday!  It was a looong week.  And now there's a long weekend, so that's pretty great!
5. I'm hoping to film several tutorials tomorrow.  Two I showed pictures of in this post, and another I showed in this post.
The end :)

Facts of the Day #4

1. I'm officially obsessed with jasmine green tea!  Here's how I make it:
Bring water to a ROLLING boil.  There should be plenty of steam coming out of the kettle.
Pour water into a cup (I prefer bone china cups)
Then put your tea bag in and let it sit for a few min (2-3 should suffice)
Remove your tea bag and enjoy!
2. My eye makeup, sort of.
It's a pretty green eyelook (I'll do a tutorial soon).  I also wanted to show you my notebook, in which I draw out my eye looks that I do not want to forget.
3. Recently, I've been loving listening to She & Him.  I've been listening to some of their songs on youtube, and I just bought a few today.
my faves:
and in case you want to listen to them, here's a playlist that has several of the songs:

Facts of the Day #3

1. I made some chocolate today by melting down Ghirardelli chocolate chips and putting it in a mold.  I'd say it turned out pretty good!

My grandparents came back today from a visit with my cousins.  They brought some See's candy back with them.  If you haven't tried any of See's candy before, you NEED to.  They make delicious chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch, and cafe latte lollipops.  Not gross, fake chocolate lollipops.  But delicious ones. (They taste nothing like chocolate tootsie roll pops...which I think are gross) Here's their website if you want to check them out: www.sees.com
I got chocolate and vanilla!

3. I've been looking at swatches of the Naked2 palette.  And I haven't been drooling over it until I saw these swatches, which made the palette look more cool toned.  http://www.frmheadtotoe.com/2011/12/urban-decay-naked-2-palette-review.html
4. It's Friday.  Oh, what a wonderful day.  :)
5. A couple days ago I tried to draw a self portrait.  I believe I failed miserably.  But whatevs haha

Rimmel: Moisture Renew Lipstick in Berry Queen

I got this on clearance at Walgreens because I wanted a pretty red lipstick.  And I really like it!
The packaging is a pretty purple metallic, and it doesn't feel cheap at all.

I tried to get a good shot of the lipstick in the tube, but it was a little rough. It's somewhere inbetween these two pics.  (above and below)

Top- one swipe, Bottom- two swipes
This is mega pigmented!  You have to be carful how you apply this!  If you can get it done right when you first apply it, reapplication is easy.  All you have to do is put the lipstick in the center of your lips, because the edges pretty much stay intact all day long.
Next are several lip swatches/pictures.

This lipstick lasts pretty long.  I applied it about thirty minutes before I ate, and after my meal (plus drinking tea) there was still a stain left behind by the lipstick.  It's the stain that lasts the longest, because the next morning I woke up and I still had a stain on my lips.  The lipstick is fairly moisturizing.  I say fairly because I wouldn't suggest putting this on chapped lips.  It will not fix chapped lips.  But if you start off with smooth lips, the lipstick will keep them that way.  (Other lipsticks I have do not keep my lips smooth.)

Jordana: easyshine glossy lip color in sweet strawberry

It's official: the Jordana easyshine glossy lip colors are awesome!  I'm showing off sweet strawberry today.
Packaging:  The only thing I don't like is that the lip color doesn't swivel all the way down.  Because of that, you can nick off chunks of it with the lid.  However, the product goes fairly quick if you constantly reapply so you don't have to worry about it for long.  The cap stays on well, and the simple design looks nice.

Swiveled all the way out.
Swatches- The top swatch is three swipes, the bottom is one.  It really is just a pretty, sheer strawberry color.
Lip swatch.  It looks really nice on, although you need to have REALLY smooth and moisturized lips to make it look this good.  If your lips are chapped in the slightest, exfoliate first and use a lip balm underneath.  As you can see, you can build up the color to make it quite bright.

It's not particularly long lasting (it will NOT last through eating...) but for $2, it's pretty great!

Essence: eyeshadow singles in Back to Khaki, Metropolitan, Party All Night, and Disco Diva

These eyeshadows are great!  They are only $2 at Ulta, and although some shades from the line aren't the best, several of them are quite nice.  I tried out four shades (three neutral, one purple) and I realy like them!
Back to Khaki, Metropolitan, Party All Night, Disco Diva

Back to Khaki
Party All Night
Disco Diva (above and below)

Back to Khaki is GORGEOUS!  I love this one for a simple slightly smokey eye look.  It's a silvery greenish gray that's the perfect mix between shimmery and satin.  It's hard to describe the finish...but it's great.  It's got a tiny bit of golden sheen to it as well.
Back to Khaki, Metropolitan.  Metropolitan is a rich, slightly reddish (SLIGHTLY) matte brown with gold micro glitter.
Party all night is a golden champagne color.  It's highly metallic.  And very purty.
Disco Diva is a pretty purple.  It's not really metallic, it's more of a shimmer.  It's also a little more blue than this picture is showing.
