2. I'm trying to change my twitter profile pic, and it's not working!  I even have the right file size, and it just won't upload or save or something... I'm stuck with the dumb little egg until I can figure it out.

update: It worked!  I pressed save at the bottom of the page, and although it never really loaded, somehow my picture is up now!  Yay!

3. I uploaded a new tutorial:

It's Katniss's makeup from the closing ceremonies of the hunger games.  It was more 'inspired' by the look, because I couldn't find any pictures of it.  All I remembered was the eyelashes and the eyeliner.  But I like it :)

Hunger Games hair, nails, makeup tutorials

        Is anyone dressing up?  Here are my ideas for dressing up (although my friends and I are just making t-shirts)  For Katniss: Wear a dress similar to her reaping dress.  Or if you want to go with an arena look: do the Katniss braid, wear a blue v-neck (in the movie, tributes from different districts are wearing different colors), olive colored pants, and brown boots.  If you have a thin black rain jacket similar to the one in the movie, you can wear that too!  For Effie: Find one of your mother's old bridesmaids dresses.  For real.  Do some crazy makeup and hair, and you're good to go.  

Facts of the Day #20

1.  Wow!  I feel like I haven't done a Facts of the Day post in forever!  So much has gone on...
2.  I uploaded this video:


It's the Effie Trinket look I posted about here.  I actually quite like how this turned out.  It's kind of funny, because my dad saw it and was like 'Your makeup looks pretty."  And then he saw me close my eyes and was like "Uhhhh.  Actually it's a little bright ."  He didn't quite get that it was for a tutorial...

3. I'm preparing for the premiere tomorrow.  (My friends and I are freaks...making t shirts and everything)  I have our tickets printed out, and the biggest thing is just remembering to bring them to school tomorrow.

4. Last thing about the Hunger Games:  Last week one of my friends gave me the US Weekly Hunger Games magazine as a surprise!  It was so sweet and I was so excited!  Seriously people, magazines are awesome.

5. I have been craving Nutella.  SO MUCH.  There's an Aldi nearby me, so I might try to get some there.  Apparently, they have an off brand for $2 that tastes exactly the same as the real deal.  (Side note: They also apparantly have knock off Girl Scout cookies that taste exactly the same.  And Oreos.  I tried the knock off Oreos and they taste EXACTLY THE SAME!)

6. My room is a mess again :(  But I don't have school on Friday so I can tidy it up then.  I don't really know how this happens.

7. I got some CA-UTE (cute) clothes this weekend.  I'll post a haul soon.  (I know, yeah right, I haven't even posted my last haul yet.  But I got so caught up with my Hunger Games videos...)  Maybe soon just means in a couple of weeks.  But don't worry, there will still be plenty of videos in-between.

8. I'm still obsessed with jasmine tea.  (Have I shared that here yet?)  Sadly, I only have one tea bag left, and I have to wait until I can get some more (next few days) before I can drink some more :(

Sorry this post is so pictureless...posts with plenty of pictures are my favorites.  Anyways (Hunger Games again...) are you going to the premiere?  Sorry.  Too obsessed.

Clove's Hairstyle and Katniss's interview makeup

Hey everyone!  Here's my two newest Hunger Games videos:

This is Clove's hairstyle for the arena.  (But it's not the exact hairstyle because I could only find a picture with a front view of it...I tried to make it as close as I could) 

And this is Katniss's makeup from the interviews with Caesar Flickerman.  It's kind of a natural look (good for everyday wear) but it can be darkened to look more like it does in the movies.  I would actually suggest darkening the lips (or the eyes or the cheeks, but only one of those three) to make the look a little bolder for everyday wear. 
I've got at least one more Hunger Games video that will upload before the premiere, and I'm hoping I will be able to do some more!  If you see any in the movie that you like, let me know and I can try to recreate it.  I'm so excited for the premiere!  My friends and I are making t-shirts hehe.

Capitol Couture was having a makeup contest, and I made a makeup look for it a little while ago.  However, I totally forgot about it, and the deadline was two days ago.  But I thought I would share some pics with you:

Facts of the Day #19

1. Monday.  woohooooo.
2. HUNGER GAMES NEXT WEEK.
3. Speaking of the Hunger Games, here is my most recent Hunger Games video:  (also, lets count how many times I've already said Hunger Games.  That makes it 4, or 5 if you count the video's title.)

4. Sorry I haven't posted in a few days :(  Well, it's been two.  But I was just kind of lazy this weekend.  I did swatch several products that I will be posting reviews on soon, so that's good!

5. I made a mug cake!  I followed this recipe, with a few alterations.  Instead of egg, I added some baking powder.  I probably should have added a little more, as I didn't even add half a tsp (the suggested amount).  I also used dark cocoa (Hershey's Special Dark) instead of normal cocoa, and omitted chocolate chips.  (I didn't have any.)  My cake ended up being overcooked- the recipe says to cook your cake for 3 minutes in a 1000 watt microwave, and 4 minutes in a 700 watt microwave.  I microwaved my cake for 3 min 10 seconds in a 975 watt microwave, and that was too much.  I would say start with 2 minutes, and then add on 10 second increments until it is cooked.

 I'll try it again regardless because it tasted good!
6. I made a quick video showing how to repair (as much as possible) a broken/peeling nail.  It'll be up soon!  It's a total lifesaver for me.

Facts of the Day #16

1.  Ooh something super awesome happened yesterday!  I want to talk about it, but I've got so many other things to upload and blog about that I want to save it for later.

2. Speaking of so many other things, I've got about a bajillion videos.  I've got four videos already completed and ready to upload (one is an outfit of the day for this post), four that need to be edited, one video that is partially filmed, and four ideas that need to be filmed.  Plus I've gotten most of the products in my haul video (that I haven't even put up yet) swatched, photographed, or blogged.  I've already reviewed six products that are now up on the blog, I swatched 3 things from the haul today (and another thing that was from a previous haul.  A nail polish...I hate swatching nail polishes!  Normally when I buy a nail polish I already have something on and I don't feel like taking that off and putting on another nail polish that I might not want to have on right then.  You know, it's a hard knock life.).  Now I've only got to review a few more things.  Which reminds me, there's another thing that goes with two of those things that need to be reviewed as well...
I pretty much just dumped my entire to-do list on you.  Basically what's on my plate tonight is editing four videos.

3. I filmed 3 videos today!  They are all hair tutorials from the Hunger Games, and I quite like them.  Here's a preview of one of them:

I actually made the headband (the lace thing) and the necklace :)  I've worn this dress several times before so I decided to reinvent it with different accessories (like the black ribbon).  It's kind of funny because I got a lot of compliments on the dress today- I'm thinking it was because of the ribbon...

6. I thiiink that's pretty much it: something super awesome, all the stuff I have to do, clothes.  Wow, that's such a FUN DAY!  There's got to be something else interesting... Whoops, ha I totally forgot about the Hunger Games videos.  That's totally exciting.  Did you guys see the new clip of Cinna and Katniss?  And I can't believe I haven't asked this yet, but are you going to the midnight premiere of the movie?

Unboxing of the Box

So here's what was in the Walgreens box.  The video that took over 8 hours to upload...

Yeah.  I filmed this after I went to Target, Sally Beauty, and Ulta with a friend.  (Which of course means a haul is in order.)  My friend was on the hunt for a new bag, and I was looking for the new Hunger Games nail polish collection.  I mentioned it yesterday in this post.  Sadly, they were missing two of the colors I wanted, but there were two that I wanted.  I decided to only get one, but it was TOUGH choosing between the two.  Anyhoo, I will be uploading an 'official haul' video with the Hunger Games nail polish, the other items I got that night, and several items from this beautimous box.

Facts of the Day #14

1.  It's Saturday, and I slept in the latest I have in quite a long time: 11:45.  Goodness gracious!  I thought I was going to go to bed early last night, but that went out the window once I started chatting with one of my friends.
2. I've been filming videos all day.  (well, more like for the past two hours.  Also, that's weird, because I really feel like I've been up for more than two hours...)  I finally finished editing my Katniss Girl on Fire nails, so I'll embed that below.  And I filmed two more tutorials, and I'm quite satisfied with how they turned out :)

3. I'm debating between filming an Effie tutorial now, or just waiting until tomorrow.  Or next weekend....hmmm.  I posted earlier about the look I want to do.  If I can stop being so lazy, you'll see it sometime this week!
4. I'm hoping to get at least one of the new Hunger Games nail polishes from China Glaze.  I've got my eye on Fast Track. (although I also like Luxe&Lush, Agro, and Stone Cold.  Actually, every shade except for hook & line)  If you haven't seen swatches, here's some great posts by alllacqueredup, makeupandbeautyblog, vampy varnish, and temptalia (part one, part two)
5. I definitely need to clean my room.  It's a total mess...I'm not going to show you, but my chair is covered in clothes, my bed is extremely unmade, and my desk is covered in bottles of nail polish, valentines, Disney stuff, and makeup.

Facts Of the Day #12

1. Not much has happened today, so I'm struggling to come up with facts.
2. Today on the way back from chapel (my school has chapel once a week) I saw a collage of pictures from Camp Langano in the lobby of the church.  Camp Langano is where I went this summer in Ethiopia, so I recognized a lot of the people on the collage.  I miss them!
3. Outfit of the day news:  I had a brilliant idea on the ride home today!  I like doing outfit of the day videos, but I can't really put one up every single day on YouTube because I have to upload other videos.  I really only like to put up one video a day, at least on YouTube, to spread them out.  So, here's my idea.  (and I will implement it whether you like it or not!) I will film outfit of the day videos fairly often (or at least as often as I wear an outfit I love/am not wearing an outfit I've already shown) and only show them on the blog.  Which means they'll be privated, so you can't get to them through my YouTube channel.  You'll only see them on my blog posts.  I think I'll keep them on my Facts Of the Day posts, instead of having them as separate posts.

       I totally should have cleaned up my nails before I showed them off at the beginning of the video (and someone told me that in the comments of my video, haha)  But I wiped off all of the nail polish completely without even thinking of that!  I was intending to do my Katniss nails next :)  Which I did.  And I'm also out of nail polish remover...I definitely need to get some more of that, since I've discovered my love of doing nail tutorials.  Do you all like nail tutorials?  I hope they are helpful!  I try not to use any fancy nail tools (for one thing, I have no fancy nail tools).  Seriously, toothpicks, dull pencils, and makeup sponges are really all you need for pretty nail looks.  (Although I wouldn't mind trying out a Konad).  But back to the point of this post...here are Effie Trinket's nails!

Facts of the Day #10

1. First day back to school after my break...
2. I finished my homework already, so now I have time to work on editing some videos!
3. I've got several videos to edit and put up: 2 more from Disney, 3 Hunger Games videos, and one hair tutorial.  Should I finish putting up the Disney videos, or should I put up a Hunger Games video first?  Maybe I'll put up all the Disney videos today, and then put up the Hunger Games videos on Tues-Thurs.  Also, if you have any requests for videos, let me know!  There's only so many tutorials you can do on hair and makeup from the Hunger Games :)
4. I GOT MY HUNGER GAMES TICKETS TODAY!  (well, technically I got them last Wednesday, when they came out.  A friend going to the premier with me bought my ticket for me since I was out of town.  But she gave me the print out today!
5. Ps. Can you tell that I'm obsessed with the Hunger Games?
6. I wore a new eyeliner from wet'n'wild today.  It's a green pencil one that I think might be discontinued, but as far as I know there's still plenty of it in stores.  I'll probably show it off in a haul video soon!
7. I'm thinking of maybe possibly doing a giveaway soon...if you have any suggestions, let me know.  I'm thinking of giving away some of my favorite drugstore products (ha, almost typed strugstore).  I'd probably do it on my youtube channel.  Maaybe do a separate (small) one on the blog.  I'm just thinking out loud though!  My dad is actually the one who suggested it, and I was like 'ha, didn't even know you knew what that was...'
